Attendance

Studies and experience show that there is a strong correlation between regular prompt attendance and success in school. While we recognize that sick children should stay at home, we also require children who are not sick to be at school.

TARDINESS/ABSENCES:School doors open at 8:05AM and are locked for security at 8:15 AM. Students who arrive at school after 8:15 AM must use the church entrance and receive a class admittance slip from the main office before proceeding.

Students who are sick should stay home from school.  If school is missed due to illness, adequate time will be given to make up schoolwork; for a lengthy absence, arrangements may be made with the teacher to pick up assignments/textbooks.

Other absences:  It may be difficult to schedule doctor, dental or orthodontic appointments outside of school hours.  On occasion, absences not due to illness may be valid; please make necessary arrangements with the teacher and/or principal in advance.

Students leaving early will be excused from the school office. Parents must come in to the office to pick up their child.Please contact the school office by phone, email or in writing if your child will be absent or tardy. You will be contacted by the office if your child is not at school and you have not notified us.

Emergency Notification Cards: On occasion, we may need to contact a student’s parent/guardian in response to an emergency. An updated card must be on file in our school office for all students.

MEDICATION AT SCHOOL:Authorization for Administration of Oral Medication at School signed by the child’s physician and parent/guardian must be on file before such medicines may be given here at school.  Otherwise, parents must come to the school to give their child any needed medications.   All medications are kept in locked storage in the office. Authorized exceptions are made for students needing emergency medication with them at all times (i.e., Epipen or inhaler).

NO SKATEBOARDS, ROLLERBLADES OR BIKES are permitted on the school grounds at any time.

PLAYGROUND BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL - Because of safety concerns, students will not be allowed to play on the playground equipment or field before school or immediately after school.
