Clothing
Parents are responsible for the way their children dress at Bethany. While our students do not wear uniforms, they should be dressed and groomed each day in a way that reflects our Christian faith. Student dress should not distract teachers or other students from their work. Clothing should be neat, clean and modest. We suggest the following guidelines to assist our parents.
- All outerwear should be clearly marked for identification. Coats and jackets should not be worn in the classrooms.
- Children are encouraged to dress their “Sunday best” for Wednesday chapel services. Students may change into regular school attire after the service, if desired.
- Shorts may be worn in September and October, late April, May and June when the weather gets warm. Cutoffs, biker shorts, athletic shorts and extremely short shorts will not be permitted.
- Extreme hairstyles, jewelry, perfume and make-up should be avoided.
- Caps or hats should not be worn in the building except on designated days.
- School athletic uniforms are to be worn only for games. They should not be worn in school.
- Clothing should be worn in such a way that undergarments do not show.
- Clothing displaying ads for tobacco, alcohol or themes contrary to our Christian values are not allowed.
- Student Council may announce certain “theme days” throughout the year (such as Hat Day, Sports Team Day, Comfy-Cozy Day, Bobcat Day, etc.). Participation is encouraged but not required.
